Place 2 tablespoons of boiling water in a small heatproof bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin over it.
Pour the milk and cream into a saucepan with half of the sugar and vanilla paste. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer
Add the gelatin (with by now has set) and stir until completely dissolved.
Pour into four ramekins, bowls, or wine glasses. Place into the fridge for at least a couple hours to set.
